Zinc Alloys
Metropolitan Alloys is in the business to manufacture all of the Zamak Alloys, Z/A Foundry Alloys, Brightener Alloys (for coating), Die Metals, and more, either to ASTM or customer specifications.

The Cutting Edge
  • The melting and casting process is what really makes Metropolitan Alloys stand out!

We start with all refractory-lined reverberatory furnaces (no iron pots) to prevent any iron contamination. Furthermore, the finest quality materials go into all our alloys. Special high grade zinc and the highest quality grades of aluminum, copper, magnesium, and nickel (depending on the alloy being manufactured), ensure the absolute best quality to exceed the expectations of everybody from the large galvanizer to the miniature casting manufacturer.

All die casting alloys, foundry alloys, and coating (brightener) alloys are analyzed, certified, and produced to our stringent requirements in conformance with ISO, ASTM, SAE, and customer standards and / or customer specifications. Our ISO quality system and equipped laboratory assures you of the most consistent and highest quality alloys available anywhere.

After chemistry approval, our skimming process and unique in-line flow-filtering system filters out the dross and non-metallic inclusions as small as 250µ by the use of our specially engineered ceramic filtration system.

Combine all of this with the close monitoring of process characteristics, and the results are lower iron fluidity and very little dross.

How does this help YOU? Our refined process aids in both die casting and coating by reducing oxides, dross loss, casting rejects, and die maintenance - all of which are reflected in your bottom line.
