Melting and Casting
Just as with the manufacturing of our zinc alloys, the melting and casting process of our special high grade zinc ball and bar anodes is what really makes Metropolitan Alloys stand out. We start with our refractory-lined reverberatory furnaces (no iron pots) and graphite pumping system to prevent any iron contamination throughout the entire manufacturing process. The reverberatory furnaces used in the zinc anode manufacturing process are completely separate from the ones used for producing our zinc alloys. The only material that ever has and ever will touch the inside walls of our zinc anode reverberatory furnaces is special high grade zinc. Furthermore, the absolute finest quality special high grade zinc from the highest regarded and most well known zinc mining and smelting companies is used in the casting of our special high grade zinc anodes.
